Default Re: coolant/oil changes questions

You are over-changing your oil. The manual calls for following the FSS, or 1 year if the FSS doesn't activate within a year.

Coolant change is required every 5 years/100,000 mile, whichever comes first.

Changing the coolant on 2004 would be good idea, it would be even better if you flush the system before replacing the coolant.

Be sure to use the proper type of coolant. In the U.S. there are three choices of acceptable coolant that are optimal for can use in a Crossfire.

Coolant - Mercedes Benz Coolant is cheaper where I live than the Mopar stuff. Turns out Valvoline ZEREX G-05 (Gold bottle?) is also OK, but it doesn't explicitly meet the MB 325.0 standard called for in the manuals.

The SRT6 cooling system has a capacity of 15.3 quarts, NA Crossfires have a capacity of 11.8 quarts, so either way you'll need to buy 2 gallons (of full strength coolant), but you won't use it all on an NA system. See coolant bottle for mixing percentages. 50/50 is typical, the other 50 being distilled water.
See the big version of this photo ( https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...8/ppuser/15095 ) for a mixing chart to find a mix suitable for your locale's weather.
