I always wanted a Mini S...until the day I drove one and was incredibly disappointed by the power and interior features/locations. I ended up buying an SRT-4 instead which destroyed the S in performance, didn't have torque steer and was $3,000 cheaper.
Supercharged is a "generic" term, whether a car is Turbocharged, or mechanically Supercharged.
I never knew Mini's used Chrysler engines.
I haven't driven one, but a former popular forum member (with a growing family) "AeroBlue" liked it enough to turn his NA Crossfire back in to get a Mini. But I think the handling, and the back seat probably had a lot to do with his decision.
