It's a warning feature to let the pilots know the power has been pulled back and the plane is NOT in a landing configuration, or at least this is what I'm guessing at.

Single engine Cessna retracts have a similar system where if the throttle is pulled back, and the flaps are not down, a horn sounds. When I have these types of planes on jacks I push the throttle in to kill the horn. Of course I could drop the flaps but both them and the gear run off the battery and I don't want to wear the battery down. Besides, it's so much easier using the throttle.

No. one rule of flying is don't run out of fuel. No. two is stay away from thunderstorms. I imagine a hurricane is much like a thunderstorm and I would freak out flying into one. The crew certainly has nerves, guts, and ***** of steel.
