Well, a little update is overdue. Wednesday was an awesome day in north-east Ohio for racing. The temps dropped into the 50's and reasonable humidity between 30 and 50%. So I went to the track - Thompson Drag Raceway.

My first run there the temps were in the low 70's and I ran a 12.76 @ 110.67. Not too shabby! I was pleased but I still think I should be doing better.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of cars there that night, and there were lots of delays. I only got three runs. I screwed up the last two - spinning tire at launch - and run 13.0 and 13.3.

Anyway, part of the mystery may be coolant. I tried to check my car's coolant level, but there are no lines on the coolant overflow tank that indicate what is normal level. So I filled it up with distilled water. I figured any excess would just come out and end up on the ground. But if it was low, it would help in cooling.

I don't know if it made any difference, or if my 12.7 was simply attributably to low temps alone.
