Default Re: 2005 crossfire-coupe headlights

I was at my dealer yesterday (Normandin Chrysler, San Jose, CA) inquiring about the same headlight problem. Difference is my 2005 roadster is still under warranty - 24 months & 29,900 miles since purchased new with 30 miles on 08/31/2006.

Dealer response was they could polish the head light covers if I paid $89. But not covered by warranty - the reason given was "They cost $500 each". Not my fault they are expensive, but manufactured with an inappropriate plastic.

Maybe all Crossfire owners with this condition should file complaints with DOT in Washington, DC. This condition does appear to affect the headlight beams - safety problem???

With less than 75,000 built, it probably won't take a high number of complaints to reach the right percentage to have the DOT force a recall for these defective headlight covers.
