Default Soon to be new owner Extended Warranty question

Hi everybody, long time lurker, first time poster (can't find the Introductions forum to save my life).

I will be purchasing a "new to me" SRT6 Roadster on Wednesday of this week, flying in and driving home if there aren't any issues. Return flight is booked, just in case, but I would rather fly home on the road than through the air. I will be purchasing it from the original owner, who bought it 2 years ago and it has appx 13k on the odo. All service has been done at the dealer. Will I be able to purchase an extended warranty after I buy it, or will I have to have the original owner purchase one before he sells it to me and then pay a transfer fee? I have read Todk's thread and looked at the ChryslerServiceContracts.com site, but since I don't own the car yet I don't want to finish the "quick quote" process.

I will be contacting a local dealer first thing Monday, but from what I've read, that could be a hit or miss source of information. If I don't think they know what they are talking about, I will probably enlist TodK/Jeremy's thread and hope that I get a response in time.

Any help/clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks, Tim
