I would have to disagree with you on the price going up a week before the huricane. Around here, the prices didn't go up until Friday when it looked like Ike could do a lot of damage to the refineries.

The price of oil and gas is economics 101, supply and demand. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy with what I pay when I fill up. But, I'm an oil investor and have a pretty good insight of what's behind the prices. Are the oil companies making big profits, yes. But if you hope to have gas by the year 2020, you better hope they make big profits to reinvest into finding new reserves. Especially when laws here restrict their offshore drilling and force them to go into unfriendly countries.
