His price was cheaper than the gas, hotel, meals etc. would have cost me, had I stayed in the states.

Actually, the day I went I got a good exchange rate. It worked out to about $426 US.

I was going to pay in US$, but when I saw the rate, it was better to exchange and pay in Can$.
