Oil changes, et al
My car goes in for first 'break in' oil change Monday w/1700 on the clock.
Not thrilled about a $100 +/- oil change, but...I've spent my share of time under MG's, Hondas, Mustangs, Blazers, Datsun's, Lotuses (Loti?), Opel's, Pontiacs, etc. doing that shade tree mechanic thing.
For all my cars now, the cost of an oil change, even at $100 for the Xfire, is more than reasonable. I guess as I get older I place a higher value on my own sweat equity.
I'm as frugal as the next guy, but I know that buying a car like this isn't like maintaining a Honda Civic. I'm more than happy to drop the car off, hopefully have the maintenance done by someone who knows what they're doing (I've already been contacted by phone, at work, by the tech who has been assigned to my car to confirm the service and to answer any questions or concerns I have..and to see if there are any specific 'little' things he'd like me to check out while the car is there).
Nice touch.
