in our crossfire all i notice is the million #((@#* creaks and rattles from our ridiculous plastic interior.
i absolutely love my crossfire, and of course they're a lot cheaper then this new MB, but i would take the MB over the crossfire any day.
I hear you. I don't have any creaks and rattles, not sure what to make of that.

I closed the gap between the cars by making some changes to mine. And some things were taken care of for me. For example I prefer the coupe design so that's a plus to me. Second the wheels and tires - I prefer the larger 18/19 wheels over the Mercedes 17" all around.

Then there's the navigation and electronics. I have never been impressed by OEM stereo and after getting fleeced by purchasing the OEM "VES"/Navigation system for my Jeep Commander Overland, I can safely say the OEM Navigation systems are way overpriced for what you get and amazing for some of the things you don't get. In the end, there isn't a car I have owned that offered a sound/nav system worth having. I fixed that with the Crossfire and feel the sound system I put in offers all the cool stuff in the SLK 300. And I am pretty sure my navigation solution goes beyond the OEM unit in the Benz.

The one thing the Benz does have that I think is cool is that it (optionally) can self-notify when it has been stolen and report its own position. Lo-Jack eat your heart out.

But again, there's a lot of money still in my wallet that the Benz would take away from me, for not a lot of value-added benefit. Hell, I have enough money left to go buy an SRT! If I could get it past the accountant...

SLK 300 - awesome car, would love to have it, but by changing some things in the Crossfire, I'm very happy with the grass on my side of the fence...
