This little story is for Mike-in-Orange.

A few weeks ago, I detailed my xFire, and this did not go unnoticed by a co-worker/buddy who drives a 2002 S2000. Red ragtop like mine. After a bit of oohing and aahing, he asked for instructions and a list of materials.

For the instuctions, I cut and pasted the sticky "How to Detail Your Crossfire".

For the list of materials I gave him all Mequiars goods including the claybar kit Step 2 Polish and NXT 2.0 wax. He's a pretty bright guy and I left him to do it himself, and went to Virginia for a week.

When I returned, I was told by another co-worker that George was looking for me and looked really pi$$ed off.

Well, he found me today. After a long litany of how carefully he followed all directions and watched the videos I sent to him from autopia, he applied the NXT 2.0, waited 60 minutes (it was humid that day) and proceded to buff it off, by hand, using a microfiber towel.

It wouldn't come off! He said, and I quote, "I rubbed and rubbed and rubbed on the hood and it just looked AWFUL!. Cloudy and streaky, just awful. Then It took 15 minutes to notice that the cloudiness was moving! And it came to me that I was looking at the reflection of a hazy, overcast sky."

A testament to Mequiar products, I guess?
