The colored area is the same, but the bulb location in the housing is moved forward. With a very small amount of modification to the rear marker area, the clear markers should fit. Then finding red bulbs would be the next step. Just something to think about, should you have an extra set laying around.

It's been done already. Somebody had an alabaster coupe with clear markers on all 4 corners at Carlisle in 2007. You're correct, they were modified to fit.
