Go figure...
I had my wireless transmitter sent back because it went on the fritz, but as soon as I received a new one back, the noise was gone so I concluded that it was the CD I had burnt.
As far as the stereo, I am kind of at a stand still due to school and being so busy. I have sort of accepted the whole wireless deal, but I hope to actually get a wired FM transmitter and have a port somehow mounted on or near the plate housing the cigarette lighter. Then, I could still use my Roadtrip (or buy a Tunebase) to keep it charged. We'll see how that goes.

Just out of curiosity, how much money have you spent so far on trying to use the fm modulator? Add that to how much money you will use to try the wired version, plus whatever it costs to mount the port (which in my humble opinion might look bad)? And when that proves unacceptable, how much more will it cost to get it over with?
I can tell you my answer:
FM Modulator (wireless) in Drive+PLay - $80
FM Modulator (wired) in Drive+PLay - $20
High-quality cables $40
Install of Drive+Play (free but took 2 hours and "shop materials)
End result - the sound sucked and I was out $140
I bought another head unit and plugged my iPod directly into the AUX port of the new unit using the Drive+Play. Sounded GREAT!
Now here's the point. I ended up taking the Drive+Play out because it was clutter, and run my iPod through the head unit. The interface cost me $5... That was one of those Best Buy "already open" deals and I used a $10 gift card I got from my points.
The point is, I could have saved $135 by not d1cking around with the FM modulator and going directly for the new head unit and interface. That is more than my Infinity Basslink subwoofer with wiring cost!
Smokey, trust me, if you're as picky as you say you are, don't waste any more money and time! Live with it until you can buy a new head unit and cut bait on the factory one!
