I had a similar problem. I went on vacation for a couple of weeks and left the key in the ignition. When I got back the battery was dead. I tried the battery pack and then AAA but neither jump worked. AAA carried it to the dealer and they said I needed a new battery and don't leave the key in the slot even in the off position. Haven't had a problem since then.
