Default Re: Cars you've owned previously...

I've had a few, but definitely no where near as many around here. And I think you will all see a pattern to my purchases.

1) 1986 Peugeot 505 GL wagon: a hand-me-down from the parents--the worst car I've ever owned

2) 1986 VW Jetta coupe: I loved this car because I really wanted a VW, but it turned out a bought a totalled car

3) 1993 VW Fox: fantastic car for what it was--got me through college and some of grad school

4) 1985 VW Jetta coupe: total beater, but decent nonetheless

5)1995 VW Corrado SLC: my baby and I still own it. The car now was just under 300 crank hp (has the following modifications: supercharger, wilwood 4 piston calipers, 7lbs flywheel, CF hood, forged JLine wheels [and the stock speedlines], short shift kit, custom spring rate Bilstein PSS coilovers [and is cornerbalanced with a moderate alignment], catback exhaust, solid rear sway bar, solid motor mounts, Peloquins LSD). I've done a few autocrosses and HPDEs in this car. It's not the fastest car on the track (though it's surprised a number of people), but it's ridiculously fun.

6)2006 GTI: my first new car- I can't say enough good things about this vehicles. It deserves all the awards it's received. But it's not a sports car and therefore:

7)2008 Crossfire: This is my first real new car as the GTI was leased. This is a vehicle I consider as a present to myself for getting through years of grad school. I've loved my VWs, but always wanted something designed from the ground up as a sports car. It's not as hardcore as other options, but it's still a fantastic vehicle by all accounts.
