Re: Cool, Crisp and Raw
Took my daughter to her hockey game in Detroit last Sunday, 360 mile RT. Left at 10:30am with temps in the low 50s and returned by 7:30 with them in the 60s. Top down all the way at 70-80 mph. Beautiful crisp, cool day with the trees just starting to turn. Daughter slept, wrapped up in a blanket. I enjoyed a cigar and the scenary. Saw lots of other verts but none with their tops down. I agree -- WIMPS -- why buy a convertible if you don't use it every chance you can.
Reminds me of early last spring when I took her to a tournament in Sault St Marie. We stopped for lunch before crossing the Mackinac Bridge, then gassed up and dropped the top. It was in the mid-30s. I had fallen behind my caravan by getting gas, so I bet my license on my radar detector and drove 90-110 for the next 25 miles until I caught up. What a rush - first across that bridge and then high speed on that cold afternoon. Yes - did have the seat heaters on and the heat going full blast. But it was completely comfortable.
