The company TVT is referring to is our company, JR Industries. We have been working behind the scenes trying to come to an amicable resolution for this as this is something that is a first for us. We were doing this via email to preserve the integrity of all parties involved. Since this has been brought out to the attention of all forum members, we feel that we must now respond to this on the forum as well.

A customer of mine purchased gauges to have installed in his car. Upon installation the Oil Pressure gauge snapped in half. It appeared as if the gauge had been cut open and then JB Welded back together. Well it didn't hold up and broke. We tried Gluing back together and some glue dripped onto the lens, it also didn't hold.
Once the gauges were in the car, they had color change buttons. One got stuck in the down position and color change was disabled. The other was fine.
We uninstalled the gauges and sent them back to the company.
Now they are telling us that they will not refund the Oil Pressure gauge because of the glue on the lens. They said that this is not a saleable product and credit could not be given. I asked if they were going to sell a broken gauge anyway, and they said YES we will just reseal it back up.
Anyone else see an issue with this?
Anthony, first off, you didn't call us about the issue and took it upon yourself to "fix" the gauge. Things happen and we understand that but if you bought a TV from Best Buy, got it home and the screen broke and you tried super gluing it to make it work irreversibly damaging it in the process, there is no way they would even think about taking it back. Second, we would never sell a used gauge as new and never-ever sell a gauge that is broken and we never said we would. Third, these are gauges, not screwdrivers; you can't twist on them and twist on them and twist on them and expect nothing to happen. If you saw that the button was being pushed over to one side or the other, logic would dictate that you straighten it out as you twisted the gauge and now the lens and the other components are no longer aligned correctly. We would issue a full refund if they were sent back as we sent them out minus the defect. What we received back were three gauges in a different manufacturers box, one of gauges covered in oil, a broken gauge with super glue on the lens and electrical tape wrapped around the back and they came back with components missing. Fact of the matter is these gauges were not handled appropriately and it in no way should reflect on us the quality of product and the service and support we offer. We have sold over 30 sets of these gauges and this is the first time anything like this has occurred and it would be safe to say that the majority of our customers installed the gauges themselves with no incident. That being said, this forum is not the place to entertain us with your complaints. All you are doing is putting doubt in members minds about the quality of our gauges and your level of workmanship as an installer.
One thing I will add though is how you used this thread as a place to advertise your new gauges without anyone asking about them. To me, this seems like something politicians would do during a smear campaign but then again, it's just me.
