Default Re: Auto Stick questions

I've found this to be true with my car, I can't speak for everyone else. There seems to be two modes the Auto-Stick operates within.

First mode, if you bump the shifter to down-shift this will allow you to hit the rev-limiter in the selected gear and the engine will back down. Bumping the stick also allows you to drop to the next lower gear than what the "smart transmission" thinks it should be in.

The second mode, grabbing the shifter and holding it steady to the left, the "smart tranny" takes over, selects the proper gear then shifts to the next higher gear once the engine hits redline.

Again, this is what I've experienced through some unintended experimentation.

These cars are smarter than most of the folks that drive them !!!
I include myself in that statement !
