When I did mine, I had the whole thing disconnected except for the rubber hangers at the bumper.

Let the exhaust just hang and scrape the floor.......brutal as it sounds.

Then, I sat with my feet under the car and the bumper in my face, using your feet, (better yet a good friend) try to twist the exhaust clockwise so that it eases the pressure on the drivers side hanger. once this is done, use some type of blunt insturment, (I used a VERY rounded off screwdriver), and try to force the hanger off the hook.
