Gee, thanks for all the input! We have decided we are still going to do it ourselves. I had the car out of town yesterday, so the OEM is still on her.

We'll keep trying. But, this morning I woke up to a dead computer. That takes preference! when that is done, tomorrow, we may work on the car again. Thanks for all the encouragement. As Max said "we'll get her done". I'll post back when we do!
