I'm thinking when the car isn't running that where the oil filter is located, it drains down into the engine. So 8 quarts would show up as full all the time. Am I wrong to think like this? It only seems logical to me. How can you get a good reading on the dip stick with the oil filter above the engine? The manual says 8.5 quarts with filter and that is what I put in and the car is running just fine.
