Mine are not mounted in the engine bay at all. I opted to mount my ballasts directly on the flat metal supports in the area where the fog lights are located. There are already holes drilled on these supports which makes it fairly easy to mount the ballasts using the brackets provided in your kit. It's perfect as you can access this area through the plastic access doors in your wheel wells. After mounting the ballasts down there, you just run the wires straight up to the headlight assemblies.

The only real concern is that you first want to be sure that the wires running off of the ballasts will actually reach your headlight assemblies. I know all kits are a little different.
