Please tell me it's not true. I just finished an article in the latest Newsweek that the pubs in the UK are in trouble and closing. It refered to the high price of beer in the pubs as opposed to buying it at the store and consuming it at home.

My fondest memories of my visit to the UK is when I was in the small village pubs talking to the locals. The article stated that more and more of these pubs are dissapearing after several hundred years of being the social center of the community.

Say it aint so.
