Ok - you need to nail these bastards - Threaten legal action on two counts. 1: Any vehicle they sell must, by law, be in a roadworthy condition; if there were bulges, cuts or chunks knocked out of the tyre walls or tread then the car is most certainly in a dangerous condition and would not have passed a safety inspection. 2: All busineses have a "duty of care" to their customers to ensure their safety when using goods or services supplied. Here they have exposed you to a real risk to your safety, and thats against the law. You should complain to to general manager and threaten legal action and claim through the local court for compensation for you costs in fitting the best darn tyres on the market.
