Default Fiero as a 'beast'...(makin' my case...)

Oh...yeah...my '88 GT IS a beast, all right...not as quick as the X-Fire, but it can hold its own in traffic...

0-60 approx 7.3 seconds...with the K&N intake and if you row the 5-speed and take no hostages with the clutch...!

But, not bad for a car that was initially intended as a 'commuter'...(to get it past the bean counters at GM)

Sounds better with its stock exhaust than the X-fire...even with the pushrod 2.8...(but, you can fix that problem with the X-fire!!)

Lots of fun to drive, too...manual rack an pinion steering and the revised '88 Lotus-designed suspension is actually quicker and tighter steering than my X-Fire with the bit numb Mercedes steering...and, slightly better balanced - front to rear - as the X-Fire has a larger front to rear weight bias than the rear to front bias percentage of the Fiero...(Fiero, despite the mid/rear engine placement, is more neutral)

Grip is way better in the X-Fire, though...due to the larger meats...

It will be sad to part with my '88 GT...as it, like the Crossfire, has a really distinct personality...

Plus, will the X-Fire look as good in 20 years as the Fiero does now? We'll see...

Still, I LOVE my X-Fire...!!
