The foam backing on the material is breaking down and it will continue. You might try a headliner shop for repairs but I think the problem will persist. I had my healiner replaced under warranty but not without damage to some of the plastic parts on the dash and console. A replacement headliner is expensive and made the exact same way as the original. You can repace it yourself if you're skilled and follow the instructions on the forum. Good luck.
