Noticed some surface staining when doiung my SL55 Y pipe upgrade. Old carb cars I used to buy a spray can to squirt down, but not sure if it is safe to do this or what to use these days.

Also, how can I open the throttle with the engine running and squirt down the intake anyway ??? Damn drive by wire ! Give me a throttle cable any day.
I'm sure the previous posters know a lot more than I do. I would just re-iterate don't shoot that old carb cleaner down anything that isn't a carb. That acetone and M.E.K can mess up the newer systems. They make new stuff for F.I. engines. Be sure to use that! If you're just wiping the ridge off with a rag you can use stronger stuff but if you're shooting a blast down the throttle body use the new stuff.
