I think it would be better then a ECU tune since I have the laptop interface, With that i can change settings for different driving conditions. Yes, you can use an E-manage. I currently am using an AEM FIC. None of the standard companies that provide wiring harnesses sell one for the Crossfire (or the SLK.)
The only big issue you'll have to work around is getting the MAF working. I'm not sure if the E-manage can advance timing (the FIC cannot).
However, for driving huge injectors, it works just fine.
