I was thinking of tack-as-you-go too, but realized I would have to make a "shell" to fit the frame. The mesh is just too stiff. It would pull the frame out of true. Hence the bending jig. If all goes to plan, before welding the mesh on, I'm going to put it in my brake and put vertical "creases" in it to extend the hood strakes-something the others should have. IMHO.
As for making the bottom tabs and the top plates, to attach to the car, I have a full machine shop with a 52" brake and shear to fab the stainless to spec. We'll see...
