I've read D. Stern's postings before. I installed SilverStars in my Tahoe 2 years ago and the difference was immediate and obvious-whiter and brighter. I replaced first one low beam bulb with my brother in law attending. We both agreed it was a superior bulb. I went back to Advance Auto and bought a second, installed it and we again agreed it was even better.
Later that night, my wife hands me a $7 bulb she bought the day before and told me "there's a headlight out". Over the next hour we swapped the lows and highs on the dark road in front of his house and concluded that these "SilverStars" were superior. In both color (whiter) and distance.

BTW, the bulb she handed me was an OEM Sylvania. Just like the ones from GM.

And the kicker is-they (SilverStar Ultras) have lasted 2 years! Go figure.
