Default Re: AMG SLK STYLE Side Skirts for the crossfire

James, here is what I remember. It's a been a week or so so bear with me.

1. There is are two 10mm bolts in the front underneath that need to be removed
2. Use a large standard screwdriver and turn the plastic retainer that is in each jackpoint. They are plastic and mine didn't screw out so I just took a smaller standard screwdriver and punched it through the plastic and then pried them out. They are just there as a compression fitting for the jackpoints. After gettign this out, just rock the jackpoint back and forth until it comes loose.
3. There are 4 or 5 plastic torx screws that come out. Again, they are just compression tipes but these you do not want to break.
4. Pull back the moulding at the front of the back wheelwell where the top seam is between the sheetmetal and the moulding. it will pop out and sound terrible but you won't wreck anything doing it. Don't pull it out too far though as you don't want to break any of the clips underneath.
5. Do the same in the front as you did in the back, only this time, you will need to pull the moulding from under the car down and towards you when facing it. Same thing in teh front as in back only much longer snap area.
6. Go back to the rear and pull the moulding up popping the 4-5 clips that hold the center of the moulding. these are right under the part that you see when looking at the sill plate on the car.
7. After popping all the clips, pull the mouldign towards the back of the car and with the door halfways open, pull the bottom of the moulding down and towards you while at the same time, pulling it back about an inch.
8. Go back to the front of the car and with the door all but closed, pull the mouldign clear of the vehicle a few inches.
9. Go tothe rear of the mouldign and pull it the remaining way off the car.
10. Admire your work and possibly grab a beer, pat yourself on the back and try to remember what worked the best for when you do the other side!

Hope this helps.
