But my s/c clutch chip is getting way out of hand. Ever since installing my code3 pulley, new oem conti belt, and arizona weather droppin to 50 degrees in the morning, I'm getting a huge chirp and hesitation around 1500 rpms...
Am I safe to try belt dressing?
The funny thing is you know I'm going to end up doing it anyways, I just like to ask you guys first so I feel better about it.
As long as you don't get any of it on the pulleys or in the bearings it shouldn't hurt anything. It can and will degrade the belt over time with continued use. It's supposed to be a temporary fix for a glazed/worn belt, not a permanent thing. If you don't mind putting a new belt on more often then go for it, and just keep it out of the pulley bearings.
