Figured I'd add my input here to this forum.

I actually took out my bottom grills, and had them painted silver by my friend who works in a body shop. I think they look great. My car is black and silver, so they go really well. Kind of adds a new dimension to the front end, being the regular grills are so plain and unnoticable.

But in order to get them out, I did not unscrew anything, or go through the engine bay. They actually pop out rather easily just using a screwdriver or something like that. They pop out easily and pop right back in firmly..

Just pop out the side in the middle of the car first. Then the outer side just will pull out.

And btw, they do have holes in them, just in the center half of each grill.
