Hey everyone,
Thanks for the compliments about the pictures we have been taking.
We have just been having a blast with the car since we picked it up 2 weeks ago, and the smile isn't coming off of our faces very easily after a nice drive.
As for a group meet during the summer, well, we can definitely put together a list of great roads to have everyone explore, so it wouldn't be limited to "just" Deals Gap, as it is in that area of the country, which is a shame, because there are some other fabulous roads in that area that the locals keep secret from the tourists. 28, for example.
We can even have several levels of roads to offer visitors, depending on everyone's level of comfort with twists, hairpins, drop-offs, and even several levels of fun for people who wouldn't mind going rally style on incredible dirt packed roads.
I know there's probably lots of people who wouldn't want to go places that are steep drop offs, while others wouldn't want to run on dirt roads and risk scritches on their cars, so we here in Colorado can put together a little bit of everything for everyone, and then its just matter of everyone picking what roads suit them best.
And the best thing is, we can probably work something out to rent a road course race track one day if we had enough interested people contribute the needed funds.
CO is an endless possibility of fun, and is pretty much central to the entire US.
Something to think about for 2009.
One thing is for sure, the SRT6 crowd will have a REALLY unfair advantage over the N/A cars. :P
20% power loss at 5k feet (Denver).
40% at 10k feet (Estes Park).
56% at the parking lot on the top of Mount Evans (14k+ feet).
