hmm... chipping it usually increases the temp. I remember reading on the Upsolute FAQ page. They said the following:

The temperature can rise a very small amount (racing conditions). In average, this are between 5-8 degrees
I guess this is why they say that chipping it reduces the engine lifespan by 3%-5%.
