1. Is the manual transmission from the 2008 going to have the wierd 1-2 or 2-3 shift problem, or even the 'popping out of gear' syndrome like some of the older models?
2. Are most of the TSB's listed taken care of on the 08 model that plagued the older models? More specifically the ones related to engine, pcm, electrical, transmission...
3. Which transmission is beefier? Auto or manual?
4. Any common drivetrain issues I need to worry about?
1) probably yes they all do
2) TSB's Are not recalls the biggest misconception is that they need to be fixed, that is a recall. If it goes bad then there is a fix for it. Most 08's are the end of the line production meaning they were built in 05- 06 with the same problems as the rest of us.
3) drvetrain is pretty much bullet proof no worries there especially with the new lifetime warranty.
As far as if you should buy that is up to you, what is it worth to you to have a car with 0-100 miles. Most used Crossfires will come down in price because of this huge Chrysler dealer drop in price. I wouldn't be surprised at all if used Roadsters will go for 16K and Coupes for <13K. Last but not least NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY AN SRT6 not 5 years ago when they were 45K NOW WHEN THEY ARE SLIGHTLY USED for <20k. Most of the members on here myself included upgraded to the SRT6 because of the pricing, or bought one to go along with there limited. I am just making assumptions because I see your age or location are not listed.
