yes we are, or we were when clinton was president at least. i didn't say religion is the only way to learn right from wrong and be ethical, but it is a hell of an easy hand book to live that way and many people find calm in readings and prayers. and taking out the work personally complete changes your whole statement. Religion didnt create war, wars have always existed, as long as man. Ever read the odyssey? they faught over a woman. competition is natural in humanity, just look at boxing or football and you understand the aggression of men. religion just provides a way to unite people to go to war, just like a political party would (republicans). Real religous people, which i am in no way endorsing here because my belief structure is something outside of religion, do not war. You pick the groups that fit your arguements. what about the other 60 percent of religions that dont war, like buddhist, taoist, hindu's. Its very strange to me that anyone thinks religion, besides the kamikaze muslims like bin ladin, is in any way a bad thing. Maybe the people inside of the religion obssesed with infrastructure (Catholic and Jews) abuse the power, but in their essence religions are very pure and peaceful.
