I still use my outdated Garmin c320. My wife made me a bean bag with velco on the GPS side, sewn on a non-skid pad on the bottom side (bought at RadioShack). I take it from car to car as needed - or have even lent it out on occasion. It can easily be placed on the floor, out of site when not using.
