Not even remotely close. It was a German RWD Ford that had the same Turbo 4 clylinder, that came in the Turbo T Bird, and the SVO Mustang, I think.
I had the pleasure of driving one down to Orlando from Akron Oh. about 20 years ago and was VERY impressed with its performance, and handling, (and that's coming from a guy who isn't exactly "Ford" friendly). Even though my two "Best" friends own em.
