I love going fast, but I'll leave that stuff to the bigboys/crazy mfr's. I get a little nervous above 150 and start seeing my Dr.lic./insurance/deer/car impounded etc.. and usually back down. Sure wish we had something like the "texas mile" over my way. There is a 2 mile straight track in NC, but you must have cage,steel seat,6 pt harness and all kinds of equipment if you go over 150 mph. Not worth the mutilation IMO.
Yeah, something like the "Texas mile" would be nice to have around. I'd even make a couple hundred mile trip just to see where that top speed is at. I had contacted a retired State Policeman I've known for years that lives down the road from me to ask where they trained at back when they were driving the Mustangs & Camaro's. He said they trained at the "Brick Yard". Then I told him what I wanted to do and he told me that where I ran the 186 mph was about the best place around to open one up. But he didn't offer to get some of his buddies to block off the road for me
