I politely say that you were misinformed. A new rack and pinion system was never developed for our car.

If your story is anything beyond hearsay, I recommend providing documentation so the community can benefit.

<EDITED> Carfax probably had a drop down menu for steering repair, and someone selected that option. </EDITED>
