For your own piece of mind, contact the Mitsu dealer and find out what brand of engine oil they used. I bought the SRT6 and the 2007 used from non-Chrysler dealers and in both cases they used traditional oil rather than Mobil 0W-40. In both cases I had them change it as a condition of sale. Manual strongly recommends synthetic for a reason.
Agree on Autozone for the codes as a start. It might be a simple misfire due to bad gas.
