IMHO The flaw in this point of view regarding the XFire is that at least the multi-national parts for the Corvette were bolted together in Detroit, MI. The German bits of the XFire were bolted together in Osnabruck - the farthest west my car has ever been is Banbury!

I asked the Michelin website for a route from Osnabruck to my front door and it said, "451 mi in 07h59 including 437 mi in 06h32 on expressways". Mmmm... Geographically not very American.

However, as you rightly point out, it's got a bloody great Chrysler badge on it!

Dunno. Call it what you want. I like it.
