idk about a 1000 pounds. they weight between 3700 and 3800 lbs and if i am correct, the crossfire weighs 3200-ish. so like 600 lbs. each 100 pounds of weight is about a tenth of a second (.1) different in 1/4 mile time.

it also depends on the motor. the 5.7 (LS1) motors are good for about 350/350 hp/tq and the 6.0 (LS2) motors are good for about 400/395 hp/tq.

it is definitely the horsepower/weight ratio. they can be made fast, but it ill take more because of the excess weight they have. the Formulas or LS1 Camaros do not have this extra weight so they are faster with the same mods (generally)
