Don't get me wrong Cruzinquick: I love this car - everybody loves this car but absence DOESN'T make the heart grow fonder!
3 Weeks wait for a water pump : "It has to come from Mercedes Sir", and another 3 weeks for an alternator :"ditto", is useless.
The Xfire SRT6 has only been out of production for less than two years but the Merc on which it is based, dropped off the Osnabruck conveyor belt in 2003. Parts are therefore harder to come by than they should be and Chrysler are relying on MB for supply. Now there's no love lost between Stuttgart and Auburn Hills so don't be surprised if simple maintenance spares become rarer than hobby-horse dung!
The UK doesn't have the same pool of spares to fall back on so even the basic bits are special order from MB. That's what grinding my gears: I have a car that is up there with the supercars but I can't drive it.
