Isn't NOS Nitrous Oxide Systems, and N2O the chemical name for Nitrous Oxide? (Can any racers elaborate?)

I can't blame them for changing it to NOS. If I'm correct, from a marketing standpoint, they've become the household name, and therefore eliminated competition.

It's like tissues getting renamed Kleenex.
