No guys they are not functional. I am thinking about removing them, the plastic strakes. This is the only part of the Crossfire that bugs me. I think somewhere I saw a brake cooling kit that hooked up to where the fog lights are and ran to the brakes. Perhaps it could be an exit point if the scoop was opened up? I'm not going that far, just remove the strakes and fill in the holes.
