12.40 to 12.53 is pretty signifigant to me, and is more than what the 1.83 to 1.89 60 ft difference would have yielded.

In 100 summer heat do some back to back runs and you can literally watch as the 1/4 miles slow down 1-2 tenths each pass.

Cooler air is much better.
