A couple weeks ago my son clomped into the house asking my help pushing his car up the driveway and into the garage. My 60' driveway is a slight upward incline. and we had a couple inches of snow, with about 6" of drifting on one side of the drive.
You guessed it. The rocket scientist had driven into the drift and, of course, the rear wheels just spun. So I told him to get out of the way, backed it up twenty feet, and drove around the drift and through the 2" of snow and into the garage without any wheel spinning. It helps to have driven RWD for years and to have an MT6.
These go ok in snow, but I prefer my Audi quattro.
