Re: Bearing reference sites
[quote=waldig]Iam doing some research on bearings to FIX the problem and I need some info. Does anyone have a good reference for bearings, specifically to decode the ID numbers on the bearings themselves.
I have been developing a couple of changes for Rob and I wanna do the background work to confirm my work. Currently I have numbers like :
6303 RDD- - 17mm I/Dia. x 47mm O/Dia. x 14mm Wide, two shields
6203 2RS - 17mm I/Dia. x 40mm O/Dia. x 12mm Wide, two rubber seals
6203 RTA-A -17mm I/Dia. x 40mm O/Dia. x 12mm Wide ?
6203 V185 -17mm I/Dia. x 40mm O/Dia. x 12mm Wide ?
'V' is used for a non-contact seal (removable) mounted on outer race.
'T' is used for a non-contact to full contact seal, held by a snap ring.
Without a manufacturers name for each bearing, it's hard to come up with more info.
6303 is the current bearing, 6203 has a higher rpm rating but a load rating less than 75% of the 6303.
Smaller bearings have higher rpm ratings but much lower load ratings.
Obviously the trick is to balance the rpm and load ratings to the specific task and life expectancy of the bearing.
